What is a Jesuit Education?

A Jesuit, Catholic education forms students to become intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice. For generations, we have produced graduates representing people of all faiths, beliefs and traditions, and who model the Jesuit ideal of being men and women for others.

Deep, transformative learning has characterised Jesuit, Catholic education for 500 years. Our approach is rooted in our world-renowned pedagogical approach that provides students the tools to analyze the context in which they live, to evaluate and reflect on lived experience and empower them to take action. Our program leads students to a meaningful life of leadership and service rooted in intellectual competence, compassion for oneself and others, actions guided by conscience, and a commitment to a just global society.

Put together they capture the contemporary understanding of the holistic education offered by Jesuit schools.

Universal Apostolic Preferences

The Preferences give a horizon, a point of reference to the whole Society of Jesus. They capture our imaginations and awaken our desires. They unite us in our mission. The new Preferences are four areas vital for our world today, and are part of the focus of a Jesuit-educated man and woman for others.
