Loyola High School offers an Early Application Process for Loyola Families.
This process is open to:
- brothers and sisters of current or graduated students,
- sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, and nieces and nephews of alumni.
This process is not open to:
- Godchildren
- cousins
- friends
However, these connections can be included as optional information on the Application Form for the Regular Application Process.
WHEN CAN I APPLY?
Check our Key Admission Dates for application deadlines.
WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY?
- Complete the Application Form in its entirety before hitting "Submit". Once you submit the Application Form, you cannot return to questions on the form.
- Once you submit the Application Form, you will have access to an Admissions Portal. Take note of, and keep, your Username & Password as you will need these to log in.
On that portal, you will need to upload your child's:
- Grade 4 and Grade 5 June Report Cards;
- IEP or Learning Assessment (where applicable);
- Birth Certificate with names of Parent(s)/Guardian(s);
- Proof of Canadian Citizenship of the applicant if not born in Canada;
- English Eligibility Certificate*
- Reference Letters (optional)
Please note:
- That if you choose to get reference letters, you don't need more than two.
- That we are aware that Public School teachers are not allowed to write reference letters for private schools That is fine.
- That reference letters can come from teachers, tutors, coaches, alumni, family, friends etc.
*If your child is eligible, but does not yet have their English Eligibility certificate, the Admissions Office will help you with the paperwork should your child get accepted and enroll at Loyola.
WHEN WILL I GET AN ANSWER?
The Admissions Committee will review the early applications in August and contact families either just before or just after Labour Day. There will only be two decisions released at that time by email:
- An early acceptance*, or
- A request for the applicant to fall into the Regular Application Process so Loyola’s Admissions Team can learn more about the child through our Activity Day to be held on a Saturday in October (various time slots available - see our Key Admission Dates). Decisions from this process are sent by email by the end of the first full week of November - accepted, not accepted or placed on a waiting list.
*An Early Acceptance means that the child has been accepted and does not participate in our Activity Day. The family will receive instructions on how to confirm enrollment.
WHAT IF I MISS THE DEADLINE?
Not to worry! This Early Application Process is available to Loyola connections only - but there is no requirement to apply now. The Regular Application Process continues into the Fall. Check our Key Admission Dates for deadlines.
If you have more questions about the admissions process, please contact admissions@loyola.ca. Please check our Admissions Process for all other information.
