Meet Scott Corbett

December 10, 2021

Scott Corbett came to Loyola from McGill University where he spent the last six years working as a Senior Development Officer, helping to prepare McGill for their bicentennial capital campaign. In his role Scott also led the advancement efforts to inaugurate the Max Bell School of Public Policy. Prior to McGill, Scott worked in leadership roles in the industrial manufacturing, wholesales and sporting goods fields.

A father of three, he has been a coach in the West Island for over 30 years. He grew up with many Loyola alumni and has coached several current and past Loyola students. Having seen first-hand the values and growth that are embedded in the Loyola experience was a significant factor in Scott’s decision to come to Loyola. “Knowing the Loyola students and families that I have relationships with, and knowing that in my role I would be able to have a direct impact on the mission and future of the school really made the decision to come to Loyola an easy one.”

For Scott, being surrounded by student energy is integral to inspiring the work of an advancement professional. “The students are a daily reminder of why I am here and why helping to expand a culture of philanthropy is so important. Philanthropy is about more than financial support, it is about being engaged, being involved and contributing to the experience in your own way.“ As much as part of the Jesuit mission is walking with your community and those in need it’s also about walking together. “It’s an incredibly valuable opportunity for students who get to spend their high school years at Loyola. We should support that through our efforts, be it financial, with our time or with our expertise.”

Scott joins Loyola at a pivotal time for the school and for the advancement office. “I look forward to meeting and speaking with as many people as I can in the coming months.”
